A Secret Garden – Somewhere in England
We were delighted to be asked to photograph a wedding drinks reception in a very private walled garden – a ‘secret garden’ planted to create a ‘wild’ meadow, that almost enveloped the pretty canvas marquee. We just can’t tell you where it was. Maybe it was Sussex, or maybe it was Kent. Who knows? But it was definitely somewhere in England.
Our couple had spent the year planning and planting for their wedding reception, and over the year collected an array of mismatched chairs, and built long trestle tables supported on re-used billiard table legs. All were housed under the canvas marquee, and the tables were decorated with flowers and produce from the garden. An outside drinks bar was created from auction bought furniture, and the garden and orchard trees hung with festoon lights. Their friends’ band played on an oak framed stage erected for the night, and the guests danced under an awning supported on ornately decorated reclaimed church organ pipes.
Our photographic approach using natural light wherever possible perfectly complemented the event, and made the most of the atmosphere created by our truly creative clients.
