Cliveden House, at Taplow, in Berkshire is famous, even infamous for its parties. Built in 1666 it has been dedicated to the pursuit of pleasure for the past 350 years. Now a Grade 1 listed hotel, it makes for perhaps one of the finest of wedding venues.
Our couple were married in the Rococco French Dining Room, held a drinks reception on the terrace over looking the Thames valley, and returned to the great house to dine. The darkly atmospheric interiors make for truly romantic wedding images.
Our approach at every venue, is simply to record the event as it happens without interfering, and to create a beautiful visual record that reflects and enhances the memory of the day. We went for a little stroll through the grounds with our couple, barely twenty minutes here and often much shorter, and as we walk create simple portraits of our couple, without the need for endless posed or forced photographs. This way our couples are free to enjoy the party and see their friends and family, rather than be at the beck and call of a dictatorial photographer!
