Miss Rosie O’Leary and Mr Simon Boorne – wedding photography at The Orangery at Holland Park, London W8 and The Bingham, Richmond

2013.01.16

“Thank you so much for sending the photo cd through. We both loved going through them and reliving the day all over again! The photos really do capture the joy of the day. Many thanks again, we really do love the photos.” Rosie and Simon

We started alongside the River Thames at The Bingham in Richmond Upon Thames…

Rosie chose a textured and uneven posy of akito roses, ivory spray roses, lily of the valley, white lisianthus and white freesia.

Alexis Daley did hair and make up for Rosie who wore her hair in soft curls partly held up by small pearl hair clips.

ww

The bridesmaids wore coral strapless full length dresses.

Over in Holland Park, London W8, the groom and guests waited at The Orangery.

ww

ww

ww

ww

ww

Rosie wore a soft fishtail ivory dress with vintage French Chantilly lace over satin by Suzanne Neville.

ww

After the service Rosie and Simon held a drinks reception for their guests, in the gardens surrounding The Orangery.

ww

ww

ww

Later, everyone hopped aboard red Routemaster London buses for the journey to Richmond…

…where they alighted at The Bingham.

ww

We made a few informal group photos…

…and enjoyed garden games.

ww

ww

Rosie and Simon took five minutes out to stroll along the tow path alongside the Thames…

ww

ww

ww

ww

They loved the position of The Bingham on the river and the view from the garden. They were looking for a venue with a classic feel but contemporary style paired with a sense of green space. The Bingham was the first and only venue that they looked at!

London park names with personal memories were used to identify the various tables.

ww

The guests were asked to provide photos of themselves when younger, which were then used as place names, and the full set was displayed as a ‘table plan’.

ww

ww

ww

Cocktails were prepared for a reception on the terrace to follow the wedding breakfast.

ww

ww

As dusk fell, fairy lights strewn amongst the trees started to glow.

ww

Fountain candles added to the atmosphere.

ww

ww

…and then everyone crowded inside for the dancing.

Miss Tracy Scribner and Mr James Dorée – wedding photography at Wilton’s Music Hall, London E1

2012.01.31

Tucked away off Cable Street is Wilton’s, perhaps London’s oldest grand music hall which has a faded elegance and great vintage charm that is difficult to rival. The frescoed pale blue walls, ornately carved balcony and thousands of tiny bulb lights make for a twinkling romantic interior. It is high on our list for the accolade of London’s most atmospheric wedding venue. But wedding bookings are limited, as precedence is given to their busy programme of theatrical productions.

Wilton’s holds a licence to carry out civil ceremonies. The ground floor can seat about 85 guests and tables are quickly and efficiently laid out after the wedding service in a simple refectory style with crisp white linen, while guests enjoy a drink on the pretty first floor horseshoe-shaped balcony.

The maids of honour wore lovely grecian style dresses by H&M (“shhh – a complete find” says Tracy) in soft apricot with simple straps and are pleated from a diamante waistband. Their hair (by Aveda on High Holborn) was softly tousled and pinned with fresh flowers. They carried hand-tied bouquets of scented old-fashioned roses created by the wonderful Scarlet and Violet.

Tracy’s beautiful tiered dress and shoulder length veil were by Temperley.

Every detail from the peeling paint and curious posters featuring the famous French nineteenth century tightrope walker Blondin add to the air of vintage authenticity. Even the waiting staff with their 40s style hair and white starched jackets add to the glamour of this location. the

The refectory tables were decorated with vintage cut-glass crystal water bowls by the talented team at Scarlet and Violet. All my summer garden favourites are here, off-white sweet peas, old-fashioned pale pink and apricot roses and a delicate plum astilbe and scabious.

Tracy also asked Vic at Scarlet & Violet to wrap the lighting gantry that surrounds the balcony with pretty greenery and white fairy lights. The cake was by Chloe Coker whose own wedding in snowy Rutland we feature.

ww

ww

ww

ww

ww

Tracy’s gold strappy high-heeled shoes were by Gucci.

ww

Former venture capitalist Tracy is CEO and co-founder of LLUSTRE.COM (now part of Fab UK) a magazine meets shop designed to help people discover great and affordable design for their homes, or in her own words “for a home you love to live in!”

Miss Patricia Pereira and Mr Tomasz Porczyk – wedding photography at the Kensington and Chelsea Register Office, London SW3 and Bumpkin Restaurant, South Kensington, London SW7

2012.01.03

“The pictures are really lovely, everyone loves them, thanks a lot for your effort.” Tomasz and Patricia

Patricia and Tomasz were married just before Christmas one crisp Winter morning at the Kensington and Chelsea Register Office on The King’s Road.

ww

ww

After the service the couple travelled by taxi to Battersea Park to enjoy the Winter sunshine…

ww

ww

…and then walked back across Chelsea Bridge.

ww

ww

ww

…before getting another taxi…

…to the Bumpkin restaurant in South Kensington…

ww

…where they rejoined their guests.

ww

ww

ww

The international crowd included family and friends from Poland, Germany and Brazil, as well as London, (together with a former Miss Universe)…

…and the party enjoyed eating, afternoon salsa…

and were refreshed throughout by long cool cocktails.

Miss Louise Sullivan and Mr Tam Rodwell – wedding photography at Fulham Palace, London SW6

2011.12.01

“Thank you so much, it was the perfect day and it was a pleasure to have you there….and you were a very calming presence in the house that morning…. thank you!”

“Disc received safely on Saturday…. thank you so much, the photos are fantastic! … I’m thrilled… you’ve captured some beautiful ones and they were just what I wanted… thanks so much! ” Louise

Louise got ready for her wedding at home…

Security measures were in place…

Hair and make up was by Gemma Sutton.

ww

ww

A simple bold colour scheme was developed.

Louise took a London black cab for the short journey to Fulham Palace.

There the bridesmaids processed down the aisle in the Great Hall…

…before the bride, who was accompanied by both parents.

ww

ww

After the ceremony a drinks reception was held in the courtyard.

We like our group photos informal, and to not disrupt the party.

ww

ww

ww

Self-portraiture was proving popular…

…though not everyone remembered their camera.

Amongst the menswear was a fine blend of three piece tweed, naval uniform, and blue suede shoes.

There was a penny jar for guests to throw coins into the courtyard fountain.

Giant lanterns framed the entrance.

The strong colour theme was continued in the Great Hall, which during the drinks reception had been converted from ceremony venue to dining room.

ww

ww

ww

ww

After the speeches a slide show of family favourite photos was shown.

ww

The fabulous cake was made by the bride’s mother.

ww

ww

ww

ww

At night the courtyard was illuminated by floodlights and lanterns.

ww

ww

Later cocktails were served…

ww

ww

We always deliver to our couples every image in colour…

…as well as in black and white.

Louise and Tam’s wedding was expertly co-ordinated by Erika Unbehaun of Flutterfly Events.

2011.10.25

“We’re back from Brazil and wanted to say thank you so much for all you did on the day,” Théa x

Théa and Tim were married at St Peter’s Church on Eaton Square, Belgravia, London SW1. They sent out a pretty hand drawn map to guide their guests.

ww

ww

ww

ww

After the service Théa and Tim perambulated Eaton Square…

ww

ww

ww

ww

ww

…and walked the short distance to Il Bottaccio on Grosvenor Place, London SW1 to greet their guests.

It has a wonderful staircase for walking up… and for walking down…

…and big mirrors to see and be seen in.

Rose petals, candles and peonies decorated the stairs and mantle shelves.

ww

ww

The tables were decorated with postcards from some of the couple’s favourite destinations.

Patisserie Valerie provided the cake selection.
