Miss Rosie O’Leary and Mr Simon Boorne – wedding photography at The Orangery at Holland Park, London W8 and The Bingham, Richmond

2013.01.16

“Thank you so much for sending the photo cd through. We both loved going through them and reliving the day all over again! The photos really do capture the joy of the day. Many thanks again, we really do love the photos.” Rosie and Simon

We started alongside the River Thames at The Bingham in Richmond Upon Thames…

Rosie chose a textured and uneven posy of akito roses, ivory spray roses, lily of the valley, white lisianthus and white freesia.

Alexis Daley did hair and make up for Rosie who wore her hair in soft curls partly held up by small pearl hair clips.

The bridesmaids wore coral strapless full length dresses.

Over in Holland Park, London W8, the groom and guests waited at The Orangery.

Rosie wore a soft fishtail ivory dress with vintage French Chantilly lace over satin by Suzanne Neville.

After the service Rosie and Simon held a drinks reception for their guests, in the gardens surrounding The Orangery.

Later, everyone hopped aboard red Routemaster London buses for the journey to Richmond…

…where they alighted at The Bingham.

ww

We made a few informal group photos…

…and enjoyed garden games.

Rosie and Simon took five minutes out to stroll along the tow path alongside the Thames…

They loved the position of The Bingham on the river and the view from the garden. They were looking for a venue with a classic feel but contemporary style paired with a sense of green space. The Bingham was the first and only venue that they looked at!

London park names with personal memories were used to identify the various tables.

ww

The guests were asked to provide photos of themselves when younger, which were then used as place names, and the full set was displayed as a ‘table plan’.

Cocktails were prepared for a reception on the terrace to follow the wedding breakfast.

As dusk fell, fairy lights strewn amongst the trees started to glow.

ww

Fountain candles added to the atmosphere.

…and then everyone crowded inside for the dancing.

Miss Mayoni Gooneratne and Mr Daniel Byrne – wedding photography at The Bingham Hotel, Richmond, Surrey

2010.08.23

“Just seen the layouts for our wedding book and we love it, absolutely love it. In fact you’ve got us both quite emotional, again! It has exceeded expectations, and going on your original portfolio of work our expectations were high!! Thanks again for the love you’ve obviously put into it.” Daniel & Mayoni

Daniel and Mayoni held a Shri Lankan wedding service at the Bingham Hotel in Richmond.

The ceremony is conducted around a ‘Poruwa’ or wooden stage that nowadays is a wooden platform. It represents family and all that is vital to it, surrounded by paddy seed, rice, coins, and betel leaves which together symbolise health and prosperity.

The groom and bride were escorted to the Poruwa by Kandyan dancers who welcomed the couple by performing an elaborate dance, that imitated the movements of animals like the elephant and peacock which are symbolic of strength and beauty. Their dancing was accompanied by the hectic loud rythms of drums known as ‘Gata beraya’.
